Ingredients list

– 2 tbsp cornflour – ¼ tsp garlic powder – ⅛ tsp white pepper   – ¼ tsp salt – 4 chicken thighs  – Fresh ginger  – 2 cloves of garlic  – 1 red chilli  – 2 red or green peppers  – 3 tbsp soy sauce – 2 tbsp honey – 1 tbsp brown sugar – 2 tbsp sweet chilli  – 1 tbsp rice vinegar 

Step 1

Mix the soy sauce, honey, sweet chilli sauce, brown sugar, and rice vinegar/apple cider vinegar in a small jug or bowl.

Step 2

Mix a little garlic powder and white pepper with the cornflour/cornstarch in a bowl and toss with the chicken pieces.

Step 2

Place a frying pan on a medium to high heat and add the oil. Add the chicken when the oil is hot and cook for a couple of minutes on each side.

Step 3

Place the pan on a high heat and add the garlic, chilli and ginger. Then add the red peppers and fry for a few minutes until they begin to soften.

Final step

Pour on the sauce. Add the cooked chicken pieces and serve immediately with rice topped with spring onions/scallions and sesame seeds.
