Ingredients list

Fennel seeds – Pine nuts – Butter – Olive oil – Fresh gnocchi – Garlic  – Red chilli  - Tomatoes  – Baby spinach  – Black pepper

Step 1

Crush the fennel seeds with a pestle and mortar to help release their flavour when you toast them.

Step 2

Place a frying pan on a medium to high heat, add the pine nuts and toast them until they begin to brown.

Step 3

Add the butter and olive oil to the pan. Add the gnocchi as soon as the butter and oil start to bubble and fry for a few minutes until brown.

Step 4

Toast the sesame seeds for a couple of minutes. Add the chilli and garlic. Then add the chopped tomato and spinach.

Step 5

Add the gnocchi back in the pan and toss in the heat for a minute or two.

Final step

Serve immediately, topped with toasted pine nuts and freshly ground black pepper.
