The Best Pigs in Blankets

Bacon-wrapped sausages with a twist. The addition of dates adds a velvety syrupy sweetness that creates an amazingly indulgent taste sensation.

Ingredients

  • 12 chipolata sausages
  • 12 pieces of pancetta
  • 12 Medjool dates halved vertically and stones removed

Instructions

  • Set your oven to 180°C or 350°F
  • Place a date halve on each side of the sausage.
  • Wrap a piece of pancetta around each sausage to hold the date in place
  • Place the prepared pigs in blankets on a baking tray and cook in the oven for 30 minutes, turning halfway (note 1)

Notes

  1. Sausages are cooked when the meat is no longer pink or the internal temperature is 65°C or 150°F
